About Us
Founded in 2009, Organic Soup Kitchen is an established Santa Barbara nonprofit delivering medically informed nutrition and food security to people facing cancer, chronic illness, disabilities, and financial hardship.
For more than 17 years, we have built the systems, partnerships, leadership, and infrastructure required to serve our community with consistency and accountability.
We are not simply providing meals. We are building a reliable continuum of nourishment for people whose health depends on it.
Organic Soup Kitchen provides metabolic oncology nutrition and food security programs that support the health and wellness of low-income seniors and individuals facing cancer or chronic illness.
A Santa Barbara County where no one faces cancer or chronic illness without consistent access to clean, whole-food nutrition, and where food as medicine is a standard of care, not a privilege.
It started in 2009 in a small home kitchen with a big idea: that nourishing soup could bring comfort, strength, and hope to our neighbors in need.
Read Our Full StoryOrganic Soup Kitchen has grown from a grassroots effort into a strong, professionally operated organization serving hundreds of medically vulnerable individuals each week.
We work alongside healthcare providers, community organizations, volunteers, donors, and public partners to deliver care that is dependable, measurable, and deeply personal.
Our social enterprise model, established funding streams, community partnerships, and long-term infrastructure give us the strength to think beyond the next meal or the next grant.
We are here for the long term.
Because the people who depend on us deserve more than good intentions. They deserve an organization they can count on.
