Bone Broth

Row of different variations of bone broth

Organic Soup Kitchen’s homemade chicken bone broth is carefully crafted using organic, pasture-raised chickens to provide both a delicious and nutritious base for our meat-based soups that supports bone health and overall immune function.

Collagen is one of the main proteins that composes the body’s connective tissues, such as your skin, bones, tendons, and cartilage. These tissues are constantly remodeling in the body and require a steady supply of collagen to support its strength, regulation, and regeneration. Dietary collagen supplementation is mainly found from animal sources, such as beef, pork, or poultry. Many bone or other connective-tissue related diseases, such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, may be related to collagen deficiencies. Studies have shown that animal products containing collagen have therapeutic and symptom-managing effects for such diseases.

Collagen contains two specific amino acids (the building blocks of protein) in high quantities – glycine and arginine – that have health-promoting properties related to the immune system. Glycine regulates the immune system by influencing cytokine production and regulation, which are the “messengers” of the immune system, to coordinate the body’s defense against infection. Arginine has long-been known to be associated with improvement of the immune system, seeing that its metabolism in the body is important for controlling immune cell function. Some evidence also suggests that arginine supplementation in the diet can reduce blood pressure for adults with hypertension.

Organic Soup Kitchen’s homemade chicken bone broth is a nutrient-dense soup for those looking to support their bone health and immune system in a flavorful way.
